Did you know that the Digital Sprinters study says digital transformation could help Africa grow its economy more quickly?

One important thing is to work on developing skills, especially in safety. Cybersecurity Ventures says there are about 3.5 million job openings in this field, a 350% increase from 2013 when there were only one million openings.

Stopping hacking in Africa alone could save $4 billion a year.

But there is a problem: there aren’t enough trained cybersecurity experts, which slows growth. Learners in Sub-Saharan Africa can get the skills they need for a successful cybersecurity job thanks to a new Google job Certificate in Cybersecurity.

The program covers a wide range of topics, from identifying risks and reducing threats to getting hands-on practice with Linux, SQL, Python, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.

To improve things, Google is working with marketing partners in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa to give away 2,000 scholarships. Thanks to these…
