Horror wasn’t the best genre for mobile gaming just a few short years ago. However, the genre experienced a renaissance of sorts in the last few years, and it’s gotten a lot better. Horror games can use elements from a lot of other genres. It seems many mobile ones include elements of adventure, action, shooter (FPS), and arcade. We’ve come a long way from the jump scares of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. Here are the best horror games for Android.
We’d also like to give an honorable mention to Oxenfree (Google Play) along with The Walking Dead visual novel series originally by Telltale Games (Google Play). They are delightful horror games, but they haven’t seen Google Play updates in a few years. Unkilled and Dead Trigger 2 by Madfinger Games are also quite nice if you like zombie shooters.
