If the PC market is in decline, how’s Apple faring?

IDC observes a 40.2% increase in Apple’s Q3 marketshare, Canalys sees this up just 1.3% — and Gartner reckons the company saw its share fall 15.6%. At least one set of assumptions is incorrect.
