Easier eSIM transfers are officially coming to Android later this year

  • Google has revealed that it will bring eSIM transfer functionality to Android later this year.
  • This mean you can easily switch your data plan to a new device much like a physical SIM.
  • Deutsche Telekom will be the first carrier to implement this feature.

eSIM technology is seeing major growth on high-end smartphones, but one issue with the modern SIM standard is that you can’t easily transfer your eSIM to a new phone.

Now, Google has announced that it’s bringing an eSIM transfer feature to Android to let users “quickly and securely” transfer their mobile plan to a new device.
