Tech giant, Google has enabled sign-ins on Fitbit, an American consumer electronics and fitness company.
The wearables company signaled significant changes last year, as Google aimed to integrate the Fitbit brand into its operations.
As part of this process, the company announced the discontinuation of Fitbit account support, which will be replaced by Google accounts.
In 2019, Google officially acquired Fitbit, for a staggering $2.1 billion.
The initial step in this transition began on June 6 and users have the option to sign into Fitbit using their Google accounts, according to Droid Life.
“While Fitbit had previously indicated the switch would occur in 2023 without specifying a date, it has now been confirmed. It is uncertain whether the Fitbit app will require an update, but the migration process will commence.”
