Rohlik, the Czech grocery delivery app start-up, just secured €100 million in a Series C funding round that values the company at €1 billion. The round was led by Index Ventures which previously invested in the company as part its Series B round three months ago. Rohlik plans to use the funding to expand into other European countries such as Germany, France and Spain. It’s a great time for food delivery apps with restaurant and delivery apps continuing to grow despite the end of the pandemic. Installs of these apps were up 21% in 2020 to 1.7 billion as customers were under orders to dine at home. The pandemic has arguably had a lasting impact on how we consume foods and shop for our favourite items.
