Tapcart, an app that aims to compliment Shopify but on mobile devices, has just raised $50 million in a Series B funding round led by Left Lane Capital. The start-up calls itself the “Shopify for mobile apps” and already features notable brands such as Fashion Nova, Pier One Imports and Pasta. It’s been a great year for mobile commerce not least because the pandemic has driven more people to shop online, and even Shopify has taken note and is a participating investor in Tapcart. So what makes Tapcart stand out? Well, it’s not just another platform that brands and retailers use to add their products to.
