Snapchat signs music deal with Universal

Snap this week agreed on a deal with Universal Music Group for users to use clips from the publisher’s biggest artists as part of the Snaps and on Spotlight. Snapchat recently added a Sounds feature that allows users to add music to their Snaps. Over 500 million videos have been created with Sounds since October 2020. It’s plain to see that the move is in line with competitor TikTok stepping up its video efforts by licensing music from the big labels for its users to dip into.
