Wix, the SaaS platform, just launched Dine by Wix, a native mobile app that lets customers order food online and book restaurant visits. The move follows a lift among food ordering businesses and restaurants during the last year as more people used their mobile devices to make orders online. Some 65% of online orders for food now come from mobile devices, according to Wix research. The app extends the Wix Restaurants platform and helps businesses reach customers more easily by opening up additional sales channels. “By expanding the Wix Restaurant offering to mobile, we’re empowering restaurant owners to get in touch with their customers directly with no middle man, completely commission free,” said Ronny Elkayam, SVP of Mobile, App Market & Strategic Products at Wix.
